How do we make each duvet?
Meticulous handcrafting and artisanal tradition.
Every large MyAlpaca duvet features over 30 meters of hand stitching. That’s 2,500 precise needle pricks, nearly 20 hours of work, and years of experience—all contributing to the highest quality of your sleep.
Hand quilting with a needle is the heart of our duvet craftsmanship. It’s a traditional process dating back to the 14th century. This time-honored hand quilting method is essential to our production.

2 Summer duvets 200 g/m²
"Recommended for spring and summer, or for those who feel heat intensely and want to avoid overheating.
If you prefer to sleep under a lightweight duvet and share a bed with a partner, it’s worth exploring the Scandinavian sleep method, popular in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, which involves using two separate duvets to give each person greater freedom during sleep.
The vast majority of couples sleep together in the same bed. However, sharing a bed can be far from ideal if it means “fighting over the duvet” or tolerating a partner tossing and turning. People sleeping with restless partners tend to wake up more during the night or sleep more lightly.
There is also the issue of thermoregulation—a key factor affecting sleep quality. When sleepers are unable to regulate their temperature, sleep quality deteriorates, which can lead to insomnia and other health problems.
Using two duvets allows each person the freedom to regulate their temperature during sleep.
Grandma’s hack: “loops” sewn into the duvet’s binding — one in each corner and one in the middle of each side — allow you to fasten the duvet to the cover. Thanks to the cotton ties sewn inside each MyAlpaca duvet cover, the duvet corners won’t slip out of the cover. Simple as that.
Corners extending beyond
MyAlpaca duvets have slightly more pronounced corners (about 5–7 cm), allowing the duvet corners to better fill the corners of the cover. For this reason, we always measure the width and length of the duvet at its center.
Pick the binding that suits you best
The duvet is finished with a cotton binding in white or blue featuring the MyAlpaca pattern, designed exclusively for us by the artist Małgorzata Lasocka.
Composition
+100% natural alpaca. Our duvets are filled exclusively with pure alpaca fleece, without any chemical additives, which is why they are as soft and pleasant as the alpaca itself.
100% natural cotton. The cover is densely woven, silky, lightweight, and breathable—exceptionally soft to the touch with a natural sheen. Available in white.
Product care
+
- Regularly air out your duvet and pillows outdoors—especially on hot, dry, sunny, and windy days. This should be enough to keep your bedding fresh, especially if you change the covers often.
- If necessary, we recommend gentle dry cleaning and low-temperature drying. Make sure the dry cleaner follows the care instructions for wool.
- Spot cleaning with cold water and drying flat or hanging is allowed.
Warning: Do not soak in hot water or wash in an automatic washing machine. Products cleaned this way may become damaged and will not be covered by the warranty. Machine washing, even in cold water and on a wool cycle, is not recommended because mechanical agitation and spinning can shift or shrink the fibers inside the duvet.

d. Flammability - Alpaca wool is one of the least flammable natural fibers.
Wool is naturally flame resistant, making it an excellent choice for the home. Wool’s properties make it safer in the event of a fire, as wool has a very high ignition temperature of 570-600°C. In addition, wool requires a large amount of oxygen to burn due to the high nitrogen and water content in wool. As a result, wool is more difficult to ignite and burns at a lower flame speed than other unprocessed natural fibres such as cotton, linen and silk. In particular, studies show that alpaca wool is one of the least flammable natural fibres. In laboratory tests, it has shown a lower heat release rate and better self-extinguishing properties than sheep wool.
e. Safety Warnings and Precautions
Do not use near open flames, fire sources or high temperatures. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture.
f. Safe disposal
At the end of its useful life, the product should be disposed of in accordance with local waste management regulations. The product is made of natural and biodegradable materials (alpaca wool, cotton) that can be taken to a textile collection point for recycling. Do not burn the product or expose it to high temperatures when disposing of it.
