What makes alpaca wool so special?

Alpaca is more than an animal - it is a symbol of gentleness, endurance, and the bond between humans and nature.
Its fibre, warm as the Andean sun and soft as a cloud, carries within it a story of resilience, respect, and generations of tradition. From its unparalleled thermoregulating properties to its almost ethereal lightness and softness, nothing surpasses its finest quality in terms of comfort and pleasure.

Alpaca fibre is six times warmer than sheep’s wool and three times more durable.
Alpaca fibre is exceptionally light and soft
The fibre obtained from the alpaca’s fleece is among the most luxurious in the world
The fineness of alpaca fibre comes from its much smoother surface — with smaller, finer and more tightly overlapping scales than those of cashmere goats. Thanks to this, alpaca fibre does not cause the mechanical skin irritation often mistaken for wool allergy and common with sheep’s wool.
Meet Alpacas

No fibre regulates body temperature better than alpaca
Alpaca wool owes its exceptional qualities to the microscopic structure of its fibres — they are hollow inside, with tiny air channels that enable effective temperature regulation. It both insulates heat and allows natural air circulation, adapting to changes in body and ambient temperature. As a result, alpaca wool helps maintain a stable microclimate, preventing both overheating and cooling.
Alpaca fibre does not retain moisture
Thanks to its structure, alpaca fibre absorbs moisture without retaining it, leaving a lasting feeling of dryness and comfort. What’s more, under a breathable, soft-to-the-touch alpaca duvet, you simply don’t sweat. A dry environment also discourages the growth of dust mites.

Alpaca fibre is hypoallergenic
It contains no lanolin and causes no allergic reactions — it is safe for people with allergies and asthma, as it contains no lanolin or chemical additives. Its natural properties make it inhospitable to dust mites.
MyAlpaca duvets and pillows are the only alpaca-filled products on the market recommended by the Polish Society of Allergology
Ethical and ecological
The fibre used to fill our duvets and pillows is sourced responsibly from verified breeders on European farms. Alpacas are shorn once a year, usually in May, ensuring the animals do not overheat in summer.
Alpaca wool is also fully biodegradable, giving it one of the lowest carbon footprints among all natural filling materials.
