How to care for MyAlpaca duvets and pillows?

1. Air your duvet and pillows outside regularly, especially on hot, dry, sunny, and windy days.
2. When making your bed, it is helpful to air the bedding for around an hour — fluff the pillows and leave the duvet folded lengthwise before covering it with a bedspread. This will keep the bedding fresh, especially if you change pillowcases and duvet covers frequently.
3. We particularly recommend airing duvets and pillows for several hours after longer periods of storage. You may air them indoors or outdoors, but fresh air and a gentle breeze are always beneficial.
4. If necessary, we recommend gentle dry cleaning and drying at low temperatures. Ensure that the dry cleaner follows wool-specific instructions.

5. Spot cleaning with cold water and flat or hanging drying is allowed.
Important: Do not soak in hot water or wash in a machine. Such treatment can damage the product and void the warranty. Even machine washing in cold water on a wool programme is not recommended, as mechanical agitation and spinning may shift or shrink the fibres inside the duvet.
Storage:
Always store your duvets and pillows in the boxes or linen-cotton bags in which they were delivered. Never vacuum-pack them, as this will damage the filling. Do not store them in airtight or waterproof containers — these are natural products that need to breathe.
The biggest enemies of alpaca wool products are moths, which can attack them during storage. Moths dislike the scent of lavender, so it is advisable to place a lavender sachet in your wardrobe. You can also lightly sprinkle your storage bag with lavender, eucalyptus, or lemon oil, as these scents also deter moths.
