Finding the perfect duvet for every season can be quite a challenge — how not to overheat in summer or feel cold in winter? Our perception of warmth and coolness is deeply individual and depends on many factors, so there’s no single solution that suits everyone.
What Should You Know?
During sleep, our body temperature naturally changes — we may start to sweat or feel chilly, which can disturb our rest. This happens because our physiological functions slow down at night. Body temperature (normally around 36.6°C) drops by about one degree, reaching its lowest point around 5 a.m. If it becomes too warm, the REM phase — when we dream — shortens significantly. To improve the quality of our sleep, we should aim to extend the deep-sleep phase, during which the body regenerates most effectively. It’s also worth remembering that while we sleep, our immune system strengthens.
That’s why thermoregulation during sleep is so important — to avoid both overheating and excessive cooling of the body.
So, which duvet should you choose? Of course — a natural one.
Cotton Duvet Recommended for those who don’t get cold easily, or who maintain a stable bedroom temperature throughout the year.
Cotton is the soft fibre that surrounds the seeds of the cotton plant (Gossypium). For thousands of years, it has been used to make lightweight fabrics. It is believed that the Egyptians knew of cotton as early as 12,000 BCE, and it was also cultivated in India and South America thousands of years ago. By the end of the 16th century BCE, it was grown widely in the warmer regions of both Americas, Africa and Eurasia. Cotton is a natural fibre with excellent absorbent properties. A cotton-filled duvet absorbs moisture from the body during sleep and supports healthy thermoregulation.

All Seasons Alpaca Duvet
The most versatile choice for those who don’t get cold easily or who keep a steady room temperature throughout the year.
A duvet filled with alpaca fibre is lightweight and breathable. It adapts to your body temperature as it changes through the night, and it doesn’t trap moisture. Instead, it absorbs it from the body and dries quickly — helping you stay comfortably dry and warm at the same time.
Thermoregulating by nature
Alpacas live high in the Andes, where they endure both intense cold and strong heat. Their fleece is a wonder of nature — its properties shift with the temperature, keeping the animal comfortable in every condition. That same adaptability works in your duvet. For instance, alpaca socks are famously used in mountain climbing and horse riding — they keep feet warm but never overheated.
Moisture-wicking
Alpaca fibre can absorb up to 15–20% of its weight in moisture without feeling damp, providing a lasting sense of dryness. This makes it ideal for anyone who experiences night sweats.
Hypoallergenic
Alpaca fibre is naturally hypoallergenic and free from chemical additives or lanolin. It is recommended by the Polish Society of Allergology.
“Four Seasons” — Two Alpaca Duvets in One.
MyAlpaca duvets have small fabric loops sewn into the piping — in each corner and along the sides — allowing two duvets (a year-round and a summer version) to be joined together with ties to create one warm winter duvet. You can order both duvets together as a set, or start with a year-round duvet and later add a summer one in the same size — simply tie them together for the colder nights.
